Ally Alternative Formats
The Alternative Formats feature is the reason we strive to make our Ally meters green: they are the output that our students can download based on what format they need. The first link in the bullets below is for you, the faculty: it covers what formats are available and how students access them. The second link is for students and is something you can share in your What's New area or in a course message to encourage students to check out these great formats. It even includes a chart to help students decide what kinds of formats are best for the access they need or want.
For information on how to use the Ally feedback tool to check for accessibility in your courses, see the next section on Ally and WCAG 2.1 Resources
Blackboard Ally and WCAG 2.1 Resources
Blackboard Ally is now a part of WSU Tech. All courses in the college are now monitored for accessibility. Ally's accessibility checker is based on WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
There are two approaches to Blackboard Ally, one for the instructor and one for the student. To learn more about how this system works please contact a member of the Accessibility Committee. You can reference the documents and links below as a starting point to understand Ally and WCAG 2.1.
